Swamp Walks & Muck Abouts

You will have a guide to lead you into the The Big Cypress Swamp behind the swamp cottage at the Big Cypress Gallery which is a mysterious and secretive environment. There are not many people who brave the difficult swamps and cypress strands in order to understand the beauty and peace found in more than a million acres of swamps and land located in the Everglades eco-system of South Florida. The natural world of Big Cypress Swamp is a richly diverse wilderness of subtropical flora and fauna found nowhere else in our country.

Swamp walks are available every Saturday at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm ~ December 2009 - March 2010

Cost: $75 per person - fee includes $25 credit to use in gallery
$25 children under 18 (no credit in gallery)

Private swamp walks are available by appointment for up to 10 people
Cost: $450 two hour walk or $600 for half day.

Our winter Muck-Abouts may, or may not, be wet, and may, or may not, be warm. The Cypress trees will have dropped their needles, exposing much of the environment that is hidden during the lush summer months. Our winter weather fluctuates from very pleasant, to cold (well, what we southerners call cold, anyway). So, be sure to bring appropriate clothing.

What to wear and bring:
wear long pants, hat, old tennis shoes
bring a complete change of clothes - we have men and womens changing rooms
waterproof camera
bring lunch and or snacks

We will supply you with:
a bottle of water after your walk
walking sticks
echo guide
and a great time!

Reservations are required - very limited space
Cancellation required 2 weeks prior for refund
