Swamp Walks and Muck Abouts at Big Cypress Gallery

DIRECTIONS FROM THE WEST:

Go south on I-75 to exit 101 (SR 951). Take the exit toward Marco Island. You will be traveling south on SR 951. When you reach Tamiami Trail (Hwy 41) you will see a Publix - Kmart shopping center on your right. Turn east (left) at Tamiami Trail. If you need gas this is a good place to get it. From that point to the gallery is approximately 47 miles. One half mile before you reach the gallery you will see the Big Cypress National Preserve Oasis Visitors Center on the north (left) side of the road. We are approximately ½ mile further down the road on the south (right) side - Mile Marker 54.5. There is a sign out in front.

DIRECTIONS FROM THE EAST:

Go south on the Florida Turnpike (821), exit at Tamiami Trail (Hwy 41) going west (right). As you travel west on Tamiami Trail (Hwy 41) you will eventually see, on your north (right) side, a Micosukee Gambling Casino. It is located on Krome Ave (SR 997). On the south (left) side of the road is a gas station. If you need gas this is a good place. From that intersection, the gallery is approximately 37 miles. The gallery is on the south (left) side of Tamiami Trail - Mile Marker 54.5. There is a sign out in front. If the gallery comes up suddenly, do NOT slam on your breaks. You can drive one half mile further to the Big Cypress National Preserve Visitor Center and make a safe turn around at that location.
